EMMY LAMBERT
As Founder and Creative Director of Cliff Walk Designs, an ecologically focused landscape design studio based in Larchmont, New York, Emmy Lambert brings a refined aesthetic and deep reverence for the natural world to every garden she creates.
Established in 2022, Cliff Walk Designs is named after the beloved Cliff Walk near her childhood summer home in Prouts Neck, Maine—a coastal landscape of striking natural beauty which also served as a profound source of inspiration for artist Winslow Homer. It remains a touchstone for Emmy's design philosophy: poetic, grounded, and attuned to place.
Guided by formal training in Horticulture and Landscape Design from the New York Botanical Garden, the Designer’s work embodies the harmony between elegance and ecology.

Soil Health, Biodiversity & Native Plants
philosophy
Emmy’s design process always begins with the land itself—reading its soil, observing its native species, and attuning to the rhythms of its wildlife. Her work goes beyond design; she seeks to educate her clients on the principles of biodiversity, ecological succession, and companion planting, while emphasizing the importance of reintroducing native species into cultivated spaces. Together, these practices form the foundation for creating and sustaining healthy soils and regenerative landscapes. “I always remind my clients that nature is our most trusted and time-tested science,” Emmy reflects. “We are not simply planting gardens—we are rebuilding ecosystems and restoring habitats.”
Whether you desire a vibrant pollinator haven, a sweeping meadow, an elegant shade garden, or a bespoke edible landscape, Cliff Walk Designs curates each project with exceptional plants, materials, and artistry. From coastal apothecary gardens that evoke the rhythm of the sea to enchanting woodland retreats, Emmy’s work reflects a deep reverence for nature’s design. With a discerning eye and ecological sensibility, she orchestrates the creation of timeless landscapes that are both beautiful and restorative.
